Jellybean – Tessa Duder’s 1985 novella about a girl who wants to be an orchestral conductor, is being reissued in February 2010.

Tessa Duder received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Waikato on 3 October 2008, in recognition of services to literature, youth and the community.

Tessa, representing IBBY NZ and the Storylines Trust, attended the 31st World Congress of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) in Copenhagen from 4-7 September.

New books
Is She Still Alive? – scintillating tales for women of a certain age, Tessa‘s first adult fiction, was published by HarperCollins in May 2008 and very quickly moved onto the New Zealand Best-seller List. It was Number 2 for many weeks, dropping to Number 3 before its final exit after a total of eleven weeks. The book is a collection of thirteen short stories, two close to novella length, about women of ‘a certain age.’
